Railay Beach. Thailand: There is no secret – I’m a sunrise and sunset seeker! And to be honest – I never miss out on an opportunity to enjoy some spectacular starts and ends of the day. Due to the fact that I’m actually living in the mountains, sunsets have become not that easy to get, excluding the moments when I’m actually on the top of the mountain (which don’t happen that often during the sunset…). In contrast, I enjoy every single day (well, besides the foggy days) some gorgeous pinkish sunrises from my balcony. Well, although the view from my balcony gives me the opportunity to catch the sunrise every day, I cannot really compare it to a sunrise above the ocean.
And to be honest – the best sunrise and sunset colours I have ever seen are in Southeast Asia – the colours are popping massive out and the views are always gorgeous!
But I’ve never been to a place, where the distance between a gorgeous sunrise and amazing sunset is only 5 minutes of walk! Well – Railay Beach is the place to be! Railay Beach is not an island but a peninsula of the mainland. Anyway, it feels like an island since it can only be reached by boat.
Railay Beach is located in the south of Ao Nang area and is almost separated from all the life going on in the north area even though it is only 5 minutes by boat from Ao Nang. Therefore, when you travel to Railay, you will feel like you are stepping into another reality, nothing from this World!
The reason why you can enjoy both, the sunset and sunrise over the ocean in Railay, is that the peninsula is divided into two different areas, the first one is resort paradise in Railay West (sunset), and the second is Railay East area with more affordable accommodations (sunrise).
These are the images from our last day in Thailand – one month, 5 islands, 2 cities and thousands of unforgettable memories! … We will come back for sure 🙂 There is so much we still want to see and explore in this amazing country!
