It was no surprise for my common “city trip” behaviour – the best comes last! And so my Dubai experience was no exception. There is no doubt, for me the highlight of every single trip is to find the perfect place with the perfect eagle’s eye view of the city. So it should be no surprise – at the end of our visit to Dubai we were standing at the observation deck on “Level 125” of Burj Khalifa! The tallest building on Earth has been waiting on my bucket list to be checked since years!

But to be honest! I (as the greatest example of a prominent Travel Hedonist) won’t be satisfied with “solely” visiting the Tallest Building in the World. It should be something a bit more special! So I decided to book the “Prime Hour” tickets in order to observe the fantastic sunset over the Persian Gulf! I could only recommend doing the same! The “Sunset” was the best thing during our visit to Burj Khalifa! My second favourite experience from “Level 125” was watching the Dancing Fountains from above! It was definitely a moment to remember …

Here are 15 interesting facts about the Burj Khalifa which I learned during my visit to Dubai:
1 Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the World! It stands at a total height of 828 m and always keeps an eye on the desert city.
2 The building is three times as tall as the Eiffel Tower in Pars, and twice as the Empire State Building in NYC!
3 It took more than 110.000 tons of concrete, 55.000 tons of steel, aluminium that weights as much as 100.000 elephants and overall 22 million hours of work in order to complete the “Master of All Buildings”!
4 Additionally, 12.000 workers worked per day during the main stage of its construction!
5 It took 6 years (from 2004 to 2010) to fully complete the Monster building!
6 The building consumes 250.000 gallons of water daily!
7 You can swim in the second highest pool in the World on the 76th floor of Burj Khalifa! (The Highest one is in Hong Kong)
8 163 from 164 floors are located above the ground!
9 Burj Khalifa has 58 elevators, all running at the top speed of 10 m/s!
10 The main observatory deck is located at a height 452.1 m.
11 The architecture of Burj Khalifa was inspired by the shape of Hymenocallis flower.
12 The 24.000 shiny windows are cleaned every day by 36 cleaners and 12 machines of 13 tons each!
13 Burj Khalifa hosts 2957 parking spaces, 304 hotel rooms and 900 apartments!
14 The tower was initially named Burj Dubai. But surprise, surprise – during the financial crisis the Building got renamed after his investor and “saver” Sheikh Khalifa.
15 The Burj Khalifa is the ultimate Record Cracker! In addition to its World Record for the tallest building, The Building holds another six World Records! Here there are: “tallest free-standing building”, “highest occupied floor”, “highest number of stories”, “longest travel distance elevators”, “tallest service elevator” and … Unfortunately the “second highest outdoor observatory deck” – the first place holds since 2011 the Canton Tower.
