Wherever you go, whatever you do – there will be one beach waiting for you! Seychelles is the synonym of a lush tropical scenery with jaw-dropping white sand beaches with clear turquoise waters – so does Praslin! Praslin is the second largest island of Seychelles and similar to all other islands it offers some of the best beaches in the whole World.

Praslin’s coastline is about 45 km long and thereof more than 80% are dream tropical beaches. One of these beaches is always in the top 10 for the best beaches in the World! What else you could wish for … of course if you are looking for the best tropical escape I mean!

Here are is my top 10 Best Beaches in Praslin you cannot miss during your stay!

Anse Lazio

Here we go: right at the beginning, I start with the winner in the category Best Beach in The World! Anze Lazio meets all the requirements you could have when you imagine the “perfect one”. Anse Lazio is located on the northwestern of Praslin. The beach is relatively easy to reach by car or bus if you are staying in the north of the island.

Anse Lazio is surrounded by loft palm, Takamaka trees and impressive boulder formations. The water is glassy, turquoise and calm. The sand – white and soft and the scenery – unique! Anse Lazio is 600m long and 25m wide, perfect for sunbathing, snorkelling, and swimming, and perfect for takings some of your best photos!

If you are coming by car, you can choose between three parking areas. If you are coming by bus – the bus stop is a bit farther from the parking areas, so you will have to walk to the beach.

If you are staying for the whole day, good to know is that there are a small shop and two restaurants at each end of the beach. Of course, the prices are much higher compared to the main tourist locations on Praslin.

Cote  d’Or Volbert

Although Anse Volbert is the most popular beach on Praslin, there is hardly anything going on! You almost have the 3km long white sandy beach just for yourself. The water has a very nice green colour but unfortunately is a bit muddy.

Anse Volbert is 2600m long and 6m wide and is suitable for all kinds of beach activities like swimming, snorkelling, diving, surfing, windsurfing, fishing, and even sailing.

This is the place where most of the resorts are located and is known as the “resort coast”. The beach is perfect for families with children – the waters are shallow, and you only have to walk several minutes to get there (if you are staying in the village). However, for those who are coming from further afield, it is possible to reach Anse Volbert by car, bus, or boat.

Fond de l’Anse (Grand Anse)

Fond de l’Anse is located on the west of Praslin near the village of Grande Anse. Grand Anse is surrounded by many hotels, resorts and guest houses and is the hotspot for families on this side of the island. Fond de l’Anse is a good place for swimming, snorkelling and windsurfing.

The beach is 2000m long and 20m wide. It is the perfect place for families with small children during low tide- the water is generally calm with small waves. During high tides though, some parts get immersed underwater.

Anse Consolation

Anse Consolation is located on Praslin’s southernmost coastline. It is a very nice little beach surrounded by granite rocks typical for Seychelles. The beach is very rocky with just a small house looking out over the bay. Anse consolation is the ideal beach for snorkelling – the water is very clear so you will be able to see many fishes around the rocks.

The beach is 300m long and 5m wide, not very popular among tourists and is therefore not very busy! The water is extremely shallow- perfect for snorkelling but impossible for swimming! The coral and rock formations around make Anse Consolation a great spot for photography and a perfect place for just relaxing.

Anse Georgette

Anse Georgette is meant to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Praslin and one of the few untouched beaches in Seychelles. It is a must-see on the island, and therefore it is often very crowded.

Getting to the beach is not that easy except for those who are staying at Lemuria Resort. If not- you have to make a reservation at the hotel and inform them that you want to visit Anse Georgette (which is kind of crazy and annoying!). The hotel limits the number of visitors so you could easily get disappointed when you arrive.

So, if you have a reservation and you are coming by car, you have to park on the street in front of the hotel’s gate. Then you must walk down to the beach for 30 minutes.  Of course, it is also possible to reach Anse Georgette by boat, but it is much more expensive.

Anse Georgette is a 260m long and 12m wide beach with relatively deep water and small waves. People often claim Anse Georgette to be the most beautiful beach on Praslin. The picturesque beach is an incredible mix of gorgeous turquoise water, pristine white sand, and incredible palm trees that will take your breath away … Anse Georgette is perfect for bathing, swimming and snorkelling.

Anse Pasquière

Anse Pasquière is a beach located on the northeastern coast of Praslin Island. Pasquière is 450m long and 20m wide. The waters here are very shallow, making it unsuitable for swimming. The beach is a great spot if you are looking for secluded, hidden spots on Praslin as it is often empty!

If you are looking for some other outdoor activities, Anse Pasquière is a great place for enjoying wildlife. The beach is a famous spot for hiking, fly-fishing, and bird watching – grey herons and green-backed herons are often spotted here. The beach is one of the virgin places on Praslin and offers some amazing views of Curieuse island.

Anse Possession

Anse Possession is located in the northeast of Praslin Island – between Anse Pasiquière and Anse Petite Coeur. It is a busy beach because it is pretty popular among families with kids.  Anse Possession is 500m long and 6m wide, the waters are shallow which makes it perfect for kids.

The beach is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and fishing. Anse Possession is protected by a beautiful coral reef which guaranties calm waters, but during the high tide, the beach becomes deep.

Petite Anse Kerlan

Petite Anse Kerlan is in the northwest tip of Praslin. The beach is 220m long and 10m wide which makes it relatively small for all the visitors and the many clients of the Lemuria Resort. Petite Anse has some shallow water with small waves which makes it a good place for families with children. The numerous palm trees provide protection from the sun.

There is a good entrance to the water – there are almost no rocks. The sand is white and clean and there is no strong water currents and waves so you can enjoy safe swimming and snorkelling.  The Bay is absolutely beautiful however the only downside is that it kind of “belongs” to the hotel Lemuria so you have to obtain permission from the resort staff first.

Anse Boudin

Anse Boudin is a beautiful and soft sand beach with stunning views over Curieuse Island. The beach is in the north-east of Praslin and is famous for being one of the best snorkelling spots on the island and we didn’t get disappointed. Here you can easily see some eagle rays and other interesting fishes.

Anse Boudin is 950m long and 20m wide. The water here is shallow, perfect for swimming snorkelling and fishing. The beach is famous among locals and you will see almost no tourists here. Sometimes there is a lot of seaweed here but thankfully, the waves usually wash this away before it settles.

Anse Citron

Anse Citron is located in the southwest of Praslin and is one of the perfect places for families with small children because the water is very shallow even during the high tide! If you rather searching for a good spot for swimming – Anse Citron is not your place to be.

Anse Citron is a 300m long and 5m wide beach with almost no visitors. Perfect place for chilling and enjoying the sun and the sound of waves. If you are travelling by car you will find some parking slots on the side of the road. Coming by bus could be difficult as there is no bus stop nearby.
